Why We Started This Blog

by Marc Green on November 4, 2009

The world is constantly being transformed by technology at ever increasing speeds. I see it every day as innovative new technologies are redefining transportation, building materials and even how we can communicate with each other, instantly across the globe. At Axion we believe the companies that will succeed in the Twenty First Century, as in the past, will be those able to adapt to these and other technological innovations at a smart and measured pace.

A new technology trend Axion is now embracing is the use of social media to communicate and connect with our valued shareholders. Last summer the SEC provided some additional guidance for public companies to begin using their blogs as a resource for shareholders communications. While we will not be introducing non-public information on this blog, it is our way of providing enhanced levels of collaboration and open dialogue with our shareholders.

I’ve always thought that press releases are a great communications tool, but they have their limits. On the other hand, blogs like this one offer us unprecedented opportunities to build relationships with our shareholders through ever greater transparency. Moving forward we will be using this blog as a platform to put our current events into context from the perspective of Axion. I hope that you too will participate and leave comments on these posts so that we can hear directly from the people we serve as a company.
